St. George Young Theatre Disclosures:
Due to the anticipated amount of interest in this program, we have made the incredibly difficult decision to limit the number of kids and teens able to participate in the cast and crew to a total of fifty (50). This is NOT a first come, first serve registration. Everyone registered will be given the opportunity to audition on Thursday, August 7, 2025. Auditions will be comprised of cold reads from the script. After the auditions, the directors of the show will discuss each audition and make the casting decisions.
If your child prefers working backstage, there are multiple opportunities for your child to be a part of the production in that capacity as well. The crew is extremely important and we value as much participation as possible! It is highly encouraged that the crew attend auditions as well; especially if you are new to our program. We would love to put a face to the name!
Rehearsals:
Rehearsals (Including Auditions and Parent Meeting) will be at the following unless otherwise specified on the Rehearsal Schedule outlined later in this registration form:
* Location: Lourie Theatre (206 N. Parler Ave. | St. George, SC 29477)
* Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
* Date: Most Thursdays (August 7 - December 6)
Attendance:
Attendance is MANDATORY. We have structured the rehearsal schedule in a way that is respectful of your time, and we expect the same respect in return. Not every single actor/actress will be called to every rehearsal; only those who will be blocking that week. The crew will be attending rehearsal the majority of the time. A detailed rehearsal schedule with those called to each rehearsal will be released once the cast and crew have been announced.
Theatre is a collaborative art form. Any and every absence effects the entire company and their ability to have a successful and productive rehearsal. It is our expectation that all participants be respectful of everyone and their time, and be able to place the high priority on the program as a participant that it requires.
Fees:
Once the show has been cast and we have decided on the actors/actresses and crew members, there will be a $50 registration fee per child to be collected AFTER the official cast and crew announcement has been made. This fee can be remitted on our website, or at the parent meeting during the first rehearsal after auditions. Payments will be due by August 14, 2025 and the fee contributes to the following:
Online Payments via our website, Cash, or Check (Checks made out to The Town of St. George with STGYT in the memo).
We have sponsors available if you have difficulty paying the registration fee.
Costumes:
This show is set in 1820's Germany, as well as the fantastical and sweet land of "The Kingdom of the Dolls" which will require the most unique set of costumes we've ever had. We will be providing some costumes for the actors, however we may ask for specific contributions during the rehearsal process. Further details to come once casting has been announced.
Comp Ticket Policy:
There will be 2 comp tickets, per child, per show and families of the cast and crew get first pick for reserved seating. Ticket prices have not yet been determined for this show.
Communication:
Our main way to communicate with parents/guardians throughout the duration of the production is through the "Spaces by Wix" app. Once the cast and crew have been decided, an email with a link to join to the Production Correspondence Group on the "Spaces by Wix" app will be sent. Cast and Crew with phones are also welcome to join the group per parent/guardian discretion.
Liability:
Within this registration form, there is a mandatory Waiver and Release of Liability. This portion of the registration form must be completed in order to participate with St. George Young Theatre.
